Bomarzo
Fun Facts of Movie
Continuing with the project «Anthropology of the Mule» series, Adriana Bustos expanded her field of research on cocaine trafficking networks in South America. «Mapping and Motet» is an interwoven series of photographs, drawings, and videos such as «Bomarzo» and «Interview with Fatima» in which the image of a fraction of cocaine is separated from the adulteration substances inside a glass with water and household bleach. This is a home test that dialers often perform to measure the degree of purity of the substance. The music, partly composed of excerpts from interviews with «mules», is structured as a «motet» (the first polyphonic musical form), which Bustos uses as a metaphor for capitalism.
