Descartes Lav

«Descartes Lav – 16mm» is a piece of audiovisual craftsmanship that mixes the film medium with the textile medium. Scraps of 16 mm film were sewn with black cotton thread, returning meaning to these pieces of celluloid scattered throughout the space of a laboratory. Emphasis is placed on the materiality of the films to the detriment of their content. This piece follows the investigation of the use of textile techniques, processes and materials in film practices. Many of them are analogous to working with textiles.
