Arturo Moya
Music
Barcelona, Spain

I started my creative professional path in the electroacoustic music field. I studied electroacoustic composition with Gabriel Brncic at PHONOS Laboratory (Barcelona) and live-electronics techniques with di Giugno in IRIS, Italy. My interests became wider and gradually they led me to sound art and new media art, particularly in sound installation and performance with new technologies, for which I frequently use interactive devices. As a constant element in my work this has always had a strong aesthetic and philosophical relevance, and I have always applied a critical approach regarding my usage of new technologies. As a sound artist, new media artist, composer and performer I have presented my works, interventions, actions, videos or installations in auditoriums and museums in Spain, Italy, Chile, Argentina, Cuba, United States, France, Belgium, Mexico, United Kingdom and Germany.

My activity is developed in many fields: I have been president of the Spanish Electroacoustic Music Association, (www.musicaelectroacustica.com/amee), president and founder of EX, Electronic and Experimental Art Association (arteelectronico.net); director of several “Punto de Encuentro” International Festivals of Electroacoustic Music, curator for Experimental Music in “Circuito Electrovisiones», creator of “JUSTECH ‘15”, Call for electronic and experimental art works, etc.

I have a Master degree from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcellona in “Creation and Sound Technologies” granted by the SGAE (General Society of Spanish Composers). I have also received a grant from the European organisation CITE-COMETT to study live–electronics techniques at IRIS (Institute for Research in Entertainment Industry) with Giuseppe Di Giugno. I am also a Musical Language Superior Professor at the Superior Conservatory of Barcelona, and a Profesional Piano Professor at the Conservatory of Seville. I complemented my training as a composer by taking courses from L. Nono, H. Vaggione, F. Kroepfl, W. Zimmermann, D. Felder, Ch. Wuorinen, C. Zulian, E. Polonio, A. Nuñez and J. M. Berenguer, among others.

While working as a lecturer, I also write articles and teach courses and workshops on sound art, sound installation, contemporary and electroacoustic music. I have also participated as a jury in national and international electroacoustic music and electronic art contests. I also possess a wide range of experience as a composition teacher, radio art teacher, musical language teacher (using a method of my own invention), and choir director. At the same time, I have also worked as a sound recordist in advertising, and in ancient music, as well as being for many years the main sound technician at Vanitas (www.vanitasmusica.com).
